Marilyn was born and raised in Drayton Valley, a small oil and farming community south west of Edmonton, Alberta. She now makes her home in Edmonton where she lives with her husband. She has three grown children.

She started performing at a young age, singing at family gatherings, community festivals and in the school choir. She joined a band when she was seventeen, and was later part of a duet. She started writing and singing her own original songs in 1985, and although she was busy raising three young children and working part-time as a Social Worker, she stayed committed to her dream of someday becoming a recording artist.

Although her music is entertaining, her goal is to encourage others through the inspirational songs she sings, to heal, to grow and to help others on their journey towards personal and spiritual well-being.

As a Social Worker, Marilyn  worked for over two decades in Child Protection Services. Although she is passionate about music, she is also passionate about the well-being of children, families and communities. She has donated much of her time to perform for non-profit organizations and events, including the Foster Parent's Association and the Society of Literacy just to name a few.  Marilyn currently works part-time with the Canadian Paraplegic Association  as an Aboriginal Community Development Consultant.

Marilyn's first CD, "Spirit Whispers", was released in Edmonton on February 8, 2004 and features a variety of musical styles, ranging from traditional and uptempo country, to traditional and contemporary spiritual  & new age music. She performs at festivals, conventions, concerts, special events, aboriginal gatherings, and spiritual centres, sharing her music and promoting her CD.

Marilyn is proud of her English, French and Aboriginal heritage, and the music talent she has. She hopes to inspire others to explore their roots and discover their gifts and talents. She believes we are all blessed with special gifts and that it is our purpose in life to discover those gifts, and to share them with others. Marilyn is committed to doing her part, by sharing her music with as many people as she possibly can.
